We are doing it again!!!! Yup, the Dragons are back for the Buffalo Niagara Dragon Boat Festival 2025!
This year it is on June 14, 2025 at River Works! It is outdoor-event fun at its best with fun for the entire family!
A little background, I am a breast cancer survivor - it took many years to say that out loud. I told very few, just did my treatments, worked, and took care of my family. After three years of treatment, I didn't know where or how to start back. By chance, I found this organization and have used all of their programs (exercise, paddling, nutrition, etc.).
If you have gotten this far, I would ask two things: (1) if you or someone you know has/had breast cancer, please let them know about this organization (it is a game changer IMHO) and (2) consider donating. No obligation or hard pitch, just throwing this out there to the Universe. I get it - I too am constantly bombarded with requests for donations - but this one has changed my life.
Also, please come to the festival! It is amazing! Plus, there are several added bonuses (with a list, b/c you know Lawyers love lists...):
(1) It is free - no entrance charge to watch all the races, vendors, raffles, kids activities, etc. The festival uses River Works and who doesnt love River Works on a summer day? Come on down and enjoy the entertainment!
(2) It is a family-friendly event - you can bring the kids. There will be plenty of excitement and activities to tire the little ones out!
(3) You get to see me in a lime green racing shirt - That's right - not black, not dark gray - yup me in BRIGHT COLOR! (shocking - I know)!
(4) Joe will be working the docks part of the day - come down and scream hello to my favorite guy.
(5) You can meet my teammates - they are a wonderful bunch of THRIVERS living their best lives!
(6) It is our group's 25th Anniversary - Just imagine the shenanigans we can get into!
(7) There are basket raffles, vendors, activities, etc. - as well as community teams that participate. You just never know who you might see at the Festival (paddling or spectating)!
(8) If your SO is golfing, here is something you can go do in the middle of a summer day!
AND
(9) See if I have improved by paddle stroke from last year (or gotten worse - I take all input). I am Gen-X, snarky comments are how we show our love, so feel free!
