Hello, my name is Kelsie! I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2024, at 31 years old.

Surgery, chemo, obscene amounts of medications and pedialyte, recovery, and a complete rewrite of my life. Cancer didn’t just take over my body, it took over my time, my plans, my sense of safety, and my relationship with myself.

It’s now 2026, and I’m still here.

I’m raising money for every woman who has ever been blindsided by the words “you have breast cancer.”

Hope Chest Buffalo is a nonprofit that provides real, hands-on support to breast cancer patients and survivors in Western New York.. especially in that messy, under-discussed space after treatment ends.

We’re talking:
• Free fitness and wellness classes designed for bodies recovering from treatment
• Dragon boat paddling to rebuild strength, confidence, and mental grit
• Peer support from women who actually get it
• Nutrition education, healthy meals, and accountability
• A reason to move, heal, and laugh again - even when everything still hurts

Hope Chest is where women come to feel strong again. Physically, emotionally, and unapologetically. It’s not about toxic positivity or pink ribbons slapped on everything. It’s about showing up in your post-surgery, post-chemo, post-absolute-chaos body and realizing you’re not alone.

Hope Chest helped me find movement again when my body didn’t feel like mine. It showed me that survivorship isn’t just about scans, follow-ups, or being “done.” It’s about commitment. Consistency. Community.

And choosing, over and over, to participate in your life again.

Now, two years after diagnosis, I’m still paddling. For myself, for the friends I’ve made through this community, and for the women who are newly diagnosed and wondering if life after cancer can still be strong, loud, and meaningful.

And here’s the truth: it 100% can be. Thanks to Hope Chest.

So here’s your call to action:

Donate — because breasts deserve better care, better resources, and better outcomes.
Donate — because strength after cancer shouldn’t be a luxury.
Donate — because survivorship doesn’t end when treatment does.
Donate — because you believe in communities that actually show up.
Donate — because I’m out here paddling like hell — and it still means something.

Let’s raise some hell and some money.
Hope is real.
The water is cold.
And I’m still coming in hot.

See you at Riverworks on Saturday June 13th!
